Some thoughts to start 2010................Posted by Danielle Schneider in Untagged |
I am sitting in the Chicago airport as I take a little bit of time to reflect on the past five weeks at home in the USA. First of all I can't believe how fast the time went and how much I did not get to do. The other side of that is the fact that I was able to visit with MANY friends, church family, my parents, one of my cousins and of course my precious five nephews!! When I first began the journey coming back to the US for Christmas I had no idea what the future was going to be....I had pretty much come to terms with the fact that my Visa was up in May and there were some things I thought I needed to come home for. Well now of course so much has changed.......since being at home the Lord has opened the door for me to stay longer in Cape Town and has confirmed it through Scripture, circumstances, and of course through other people's answers which all pretty much consisted of "WE COULD OF TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE NOT COMING HOME! IT IS EASY TO SEE YOU ARE WHERE GOD WANTS YOU TO BE!" I will have to say that I agree so much with that.
I did enjoy coming to the states for Christmas and getting to experience ALL OF CHRISTMAS. I loved walking up and down every aisle at grocery stores, Walmart, and Target. I loved getting to drive around and see Christmas lights and inflatable blow ups outside of people's houses! Of course the topper to everything was getting able to see and be a part of SNOW! I did have the chance to see some snow and even now I am getting my last glimpses of it as I type this at the Chicago airport.
Being able to visit with people and see so many children that I have known for so long grow up right before my eyes was a real treat. I will not bore you with stories except to say that I felt very old because I would say things like "I remember when you......." HA HA
Some of the biggest highlights of being in the USA for Christmas were
- 1. Spending a week in East TN and getting to go to The Dixie Stampede for Christmas
- 2. Atlanta Road Trip to see Chris Tomlin and ride the Pink Pig
- 3. Having lots of amazing meals with so many friends
- 4. Decorating the Christmas Tree
- 5. My first Sunday at Brentwood Baptist and getting to see Marketplace
- 6. Charlie Brown ICE Christmas
- 7. Getting to give all of my five nephews Soccer Horns to get them ready for the 2010 Fifa World Cup!!
- 8. Rollerskating!!!
If you want more details about some of the things I did please email me I just do not want to bore everyone!!
