The time has finally come to an end! The Life Skill Educators have just finished three weeks of non-stop holiday club (VBS). It has been such an experience to watch the LSEs over the past three weeks as they led each and every day ALL day! I have enjoyed spending time at each location and working alongside the LSEs and the visiting teams that have been here helping out.
To prepare for these three weeks of holiday club the LSEs were the one’s who wrote the curriculum and so it has been good to see them growing in their knowledge of working with children, teens, and curriculum. I have many fond memories of the past three weeks. I have enjoyed visiting clubs, helping out, and being able to post photos and comments of what the day was like so others can see the awesome stuff going on in each community. Also my heart just gets so excited in hearing that during the holiday clubs children and teens have come to learn who Jesus is and quite a few have made the decison to ask Jesus into their lives. PRAISE GOD!!
One day while I was at a children’s club, I came across one little boy who was not with the other kids in fact he was just kicking around two lemons…….yup LEMONS. So what else to do but kick around the lemons with him and we had a couple minutes of a soccer game and it was fun just to connect. I then talked to him and took him in with the other kids as they were getting ready to start a craft. He is a child that usually comes to club but for some reason that morning wasn’t there but then after our Lemon Soccer game he joined the rest of the kids. Isn’t it funny how lemons can start a conversation and lead a child to come to club!!
I can’t wait to see how God is going to use these past three weeks and the hard work that the Life Skill Educators did witht the children and teens!!

Danielle,
What a blessing it is to read a bit about VBS and all your hard work! I truly cannot imagine 3 weeks of solid VBS all day long!! And I also cannot imagine all the amazing things the Lord has done, is doing, and is going to do as a result of all the efforts of all of you. You are expanding the Kingdom, my friend!! Please do not lose sight of that when you are weary (because those who hope in the Lord will RENEW their strength!!) and when you just want to run away and crash…the Lord will give you strength to endure!! And of course you know that because you just endured 3 weeks of hard labor!
But seriously, please do not underestimate the magnitude of your commitment and hard work. I know that the Lord is pleased.
Do you remember that song that goes, “Little is much…when God’s in it…and noone can fathom the plans He holds…little is much…when God’s in it…He CHANGES THE WORLD with the seeds WE sow!!!” How encouraging! God allows us to be a part of the great and awesome things HE is doing in the world!! And you are not even doing little..you’re doing GREAT BIG things!!!
So anyway, my prayer is that the Lord will give you plenty of rest after your hard work and help you to see how He is using you and all of LH, and also that He gives you faith to trust that He is doing things greater than what you can see or even imagine! Blessings to you, my friend!!
With love and righteous jealousy,
Michelle
P.S. I MISS SOUTH AFRICA!!! SSSOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
